The PhDr. distance study program takes place online. Students are enrolled at DTI University Dubnica nad Váhom and, upon completion, earn the academic title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhDr.). You will receive excellent personal support and assistance from the first contact until you complete your PhDr. degree. Throughout the entire distance study program, a German-speaking team consisting of personal contact advisor, a competent academic team, and technical support will be available to you.
Ensuring high academic standards is paramount in this academic qualification program – this is achieved through competent support throughout the entire distance study program and a multi-stage quality verification and assessment process for the final thesis.
The PhDr. distance study program at DTI University is a clearly research-focused program. The research performance within the students’ Rigorosum thesis is the core element of the PhDr. distance study program.
PhDr. Distance Study Program Procedure
The PhDr. distance study program essentially consists of three parts:
- Writing and Presentation of the Exposé
- Writing the Rigorosum Thesis
- Defense of the Rigorosum Thesis
The distance study program takes place entirely online. Students are enrolled at DTI University and, upon completion, earn the academic title of “Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and Management” (PhDr.).
The following admission requirements apply to this PhDr. distance study program:
Master’s degree (2nd Bologna cycle) in Economics and Management from an internationally recognized university.
To apply for the PhDr. distance study program, please fill in the application form. Your submitted documents will then be reviewed by representatives of DTI University. You will receive feedback on your admission to the PhDr. distance study program and access to the learning platform via email. There are usually around 14 days between the submission of your application documents and the actual start of your studies

The costs for the PhDr. distance study program amount to €11,900 and include:

Flexible Payment Options:
Total fees for one-time payment: €11,900
Total fees for semester payment: €12,600 (3 installments of €4,200 each)
Total fees for monthly payment: €12,900 (12 installments of €1,075 each)
Payment is only possible via bank transfer.
The completion of the doctoral program is marked by the defense of the prepared Rigorosum thesis.
Upon successful completion of your PhDr. distance study program, you will be awarded the academic degree “PhDr.” (Doctor of Philosophy) by the DTI University, which will be conferred in the form of a diploma. The PhDr. degree is both recognized and valid. The academic degree PhDr. is placed before the name; an abbreviation as “Dr.” is not permitted.
The “Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and Management” (PhDr.) is an academic degree that can be assigned to Level 2/3 of the Bologna Process and which you acquire at the H+ accredited private DTI University.
In Austria, the use and registration of the title are permitted according to § 88 UG Abs 1 & 1A.
The academic degree “PhDr.” must be used exclusively before the name (see Use of Academic Degrees ISSN 1010-6189 ENIC NARIC Austria.
In principle:
Academic degrees (titles) may be used in the acquired form, provided they were obtained in a Member State of the European Union at a university recognized and registered in the home country.
After successfully completing your PhDr. distance study program, you are entitled to use your title as follows:
– PhDr. First Name Last Name
The PhDr. does not entitle you to use the title “Dr.”.
